Read the full release notes
The complete 2.0.0 building update is included in ERYDON 2.0.1. These notes describe that building update; the official listing also covers the quick fixes.
Modern Arches
Added a new Modern Arch family across ERYDON stone variants, including standard, aged, ashlar, rusticated, and hewn materials. These arches auto-assemble like Romanesque arches into 1-3 block-wide openings at any height, use a fixed modern profile with no right-click alternate side set, and have their own modern selection area. They are built to use ERYDON's connected-texture architecture setup so stone patterns carry cleanly through the arch pieces.
Catalogue Tags and Block Search
Completed ERYDON's catalogue, material, finish, style and item-browser tags, including coping and newer building forms, and corrected a missing entry that could prevent tags loading. Searches such as 'erydon coping' find wall caps, 'block' finds all full cubes including Hewn, Rusticated, Rock, Weave, Herringbone and Ashlar, and 'polished', 'honed' or 'ganosis' remain searchable finish terms. Gothic and Gothic Ornate remain separate style tags, while Byzantine retains Guilloche search vocabulary.
Gothic Cornice
Added a new Gothic cornice family across all standard ERYDON stone textures, including aged variants. The new cornices auto-select straight and corner shapes like the existing cornices and use ERYDON's connected-texture setup so stone CTM and resource-pack textures carry through the pieces.
Gothic Columns
Added a new Gothic column family across ERYDON stone textures, including aged variants, with automatically assembled plinth, shaft and capital sections. Detailed Blockbench shapes use ERYDON's custom rendering and connected textures, with dedicated column-shaped inventory icons.
Georgian Alcoves
Added Georgian alcoves across all 27 stone materials and six finishes, forming one-, two- and three-wide sections with connected textures. Continuous arch mouldings, fluted pilasters, stepped plinths and capitals, and a central crest now follow each width while keeping the side details consistently sized. Taller alcoves repeat cleanly, rendering reuses cached components, and /erydon recalc refreshes clusters after larger edits.
Georgian Showcase
Added /erydon showcase blocktypes georgian, which builds a labelled Glacium display of Georgian walls, alcoves, cornices, surrounds, French windows, and coffered ceilings with supporting slope forms. The command previews the full 47 x 7 x 20 placement area and existing blocks that would be replaced before asking for confirmation.
Gothic Ornate Surrounds
Added a new Gothic Ornate surround family across all standard ERYDON stone textures, including aged variants. Gothic Ornate surrounds automatically assemble into centred single-block columns or handed left/right fireplace and doorway pieces, use connected textures, and include a dedicated inventory icon with authored GUI and hand positioning.
Gothic Alcoves
Added Gothic alcoves across the same stone finishes as Georgian alcoves, automatically assembling single-, double- and triple-width forms with a pointed canopy and connected textures. The two-wide Gothic sides extend farther towards the opening to meet the roof cleanly, and wide crowns cover the top without exposed artefacts. Gothic and Georgian alcoves leave their interior floor open so the block beneath shows through, while offset Oil Burners remain aligned.
Gothic Arches
Added Gothic arches across standard, aged, ashlar, rusticated and hewn finishes, automatically forming 1-3 block-wide openings at any height with a fixed pointed profile and connected textures. Height-mapped finishes retain shader POM support without stretched wedges around the pointed arch. Adjusted the narrow upper fillers on one-, two- and three-wide arches to address block-light strips while keeping the joins closed.
Oil Burner Offset
Added a smaller offset model to every Oil Burner, selectable with the debug stick while the normal centred model remains the default. Set offset to true, then use facing to point it north, east, south, or west for finer decorative placement inside alcoves; the inset version now sits at floor level to match the slimmer alcove base. Collision and the tighter stepped-bowl/flame outline follow the visible placement, while a narrow target remains in the original block cell so it stays easy to edit.
Rock and Hewn Stone Families
Added Rock texture families for all 27 ERYDON materials and completed both Rock and Hewn with Multiface Layers, giving each family the same 23 building forms—including blocks, slabs, stairs, walls, standard and multiface layers, slices, posts, slopes, arches and alcoves. Native 16x connected textures include matching normal and specular maps, with a smoother POM height profile that keeps crisp rock edges without the looped relief. Survival acquisition and crafting will arrive with the later survival-integration work.
Two-way Window Glass
Arch and French Georgian windows offer normal and two-way glass, selected with the debug stick and retained across connected, opening, extended or rebuilt windows; normal panes now match Crystal Glazing's tint and transparency. With compatible Complementary/labPBR shaders, two-way glass keeps the stronger exterior mirror independently of frame polish while the inner face uses normal Crystal glass. The Arch Window corner pane ends beneath the stone roof, and reflections use the shader's existing pass.
Stone Finishes and Metallic Detail
Added default-off High polish controls for all 27 shared stone families in ERYDON, Themelios and Daedalon, including Daedalon's Spartan statues, with Honed, Polished and Ganosis (mirror finish) choices, presets, pattern overrides and separate glass controls; after saving and restarting Minecraft, applicable block names consistently show the selected finish, including Herringbone, Weave and stone inlays. Supported Complementary shaders give bronze and silver details a separate metallic response with rich ERYDON bronze tones, sharper reflections, concentrated sunlight glints and recessed inlay grooves when POM is enabled, while the selected stone finish remains independent. Native 16x and Collection 32x/64x packs retain their artwork, stone stays opaque and the existing two-way mirror coating is preserved; unsupported recessed-inlay paths retain the flush overlay.
French Georgian Windows
French Georgian windows keep one-block-wide fanlights along even and uneven-height runs, with fixed stone fanlights, open panes folded back at the outer sides and a clear centre; the pane frames now have complete bottom rails when open or closed, including with no sill, and side-clicking refreshes older layouts automatically. Opening, two-way glass and inward/outward sill direction stay linked across connected windows and both corner arms, with a fixed stone mullion and clear openings at an open corner. To add a 90° corner, hold the matching window and click its support or an existing window's side while facing across the run; top clicks build upward, crouching extends sideways without forming a corner, and survival placement uses one extra window item, returned when the corner is broken.
Large Circular Columns
Added large circular columns in every existing ERYDON stone material and aged finish, with a 2×2 footprint, two-block-high bases and capitals, side right-click style controls and cached mesh rendering and crisp ornamental edges; visible lighting banding remains unresolved. Placement requires empty space; breaking a base or capital removes its whole section, shafts remain editable one layer at a time, and remaining pieces settle after edits or /erydon recalc while preserving complete detached bases and capitals. Rounded outlines follow collision, stone textures connect through Synapheia with the Collection packs, and Axiom keeps normal selection controls while completing and refreshing touched sections, including either layer of a freshly pasted capital.
Georgian Wall Coping
Added Georgian wall coping, with a 20% thicker profile, and deeper two-tier Georgian Grand coping with finished triangular corners, in standard stone, Aged, Rusticated, Hewn and Ashlar finishes for all 27 stone materials. Both designs fit full cubes, horizontal slabs, 4/8 horizontal layers, all three slope gradients and paired vertical-slope walls; half-height caps sit directly on their supports, and matching neighbours join incline and direction changes with continuous textures and smoother lighting in native and Collection packs. Updated Daedalon finials fit both designs at their actual top height, including half-height caps; coping remains waterloggable and in place without support, emits fewer breaking particles and avoids Starlight terrain-loading stalls, with the adjacent cell needed for the upper cap over stacked steep slopes.
Larger Arch Widths
Added 4-, 5- and 6-block-wide Modern, Gothic and Romanesque arches, with curves that grow taller in proportion to their width. New clusters default to a maximum width of 3; use the debug stick's width setting for larger arches, retaining automatic assembly, mixed materials, empty openings and Romanesque column options. Improved startup and world loading and fixed FerriteCore or Continuity launch crashes while preserving the arch profiles; Gothic crowns now retain their top faces, including the roof panels on short, wide arches.
Glazing Reflections
Glazing and window panes now keep stronger reflections independent of tint opacity, with support for Complementary Unbound/Reimagined r5.6.1, r5.8.1 and r5.9.3, plus tested Unbound r5.9_dev2, r5.9_dev5, r5.9.4_dev1 and r5.10_dev2, and Reimagined r5.10_dev3. Glass keeps its tint while reflections leave less background visible; frame finishes and two-way controls remain independent. Enable Glazing & window glass in High polish, save and restart Minecraft; unsupported shader versions, including r5.5.1, keep native rendering.
Cornices on Angled Walls
Cornices now follow diagonal and shallow vertical walls, half-depth vertical slabs and layers, and the short flat faces of both broad and narrow shallow vertical slopes. Short runs trim the full-size moulding detail instead of squeezing it, with clean cut ends, mitred outer corners and matching returns. Several cornice pieces and a ceiling cover can share one block space while keeping walls and ceilings intact, and covers retain their size, finish and lighting controls.
Modern Alcoves
Added Modern alcoves across all 27 stone materials and their standard, aged, ashlar, rusticated, hewn and rock finishes. They initially use the existing rounded Georgian design, automatically forming one-, two- and three-wide alcoves with connected textures; Georgian alcoves remain available as a separate family.
Georgian Arches
Added Georgian arches across all 27 stone materials and six finishes, matching the Georgian alcoves. Widths 1–6 keep consistent fluted pilasters, stepped feet, capitals and a central crest, with taller crowns on wider arches. Connected textures, detailed inventory previews and collision outlines follow the new design.
Performance
Reduced background work and memory use during loading, block changes, chunk rebuilding and WorldEdit operations; compatible models now share geometry, and large spiral-stair shapes and item-list ordering are reused. Slopes and arches skip fully hidden faces at supported joins, while connected textures and supported Complementary shaders avoid repeated parallax, shadow and metal-inlay calculations without changing their appearance. Requires Fabric Loader 0.16.10 and Fabric API 0.92.11+1.20.1 for Minecraft 1.20.1, with permanent registry aliases for the v2 naming migration.
Mod Menu settings
Improved ERYDON's Mod Menu settings with distinctive typography, balanced labels, responsive panels, grouped navigation, keyboard access, safer link confirmation and faster light previews; High polish now shows four stone samples per row where space permits, dims inactive saved choices, and marks selected options with a metal frame. The panels have consistent side borders and more space beneath Save/Cancel, while multiplayer settings retain permission-checked editing, save acknowledgements, automatic relighting and staged recalculation. Existing erydon.properties settings migrate automatically into separate client and server files.
Faster equivalent rebuilding
Reduced allocation and CPU overhead during slope chunk rebuilding and diagonal-wall updates. Rendering, CTM selection, UV behaviour and wall results remain equivalent. Testing with Axiom, shaders and the 64× PBR pack found no steady-state performance regression and showed encouraging improvements in rebuild-related frame-time spikes.
Licence
Aligned ERYDON's current primary terms with Oliver's Minecraft Mods Restricted License 1.0 used across the Collection. Earlier MIT code and CC BY-SA asset permissions remain intact for material already supplied under them, and separately licensed fonts, helpers and build tools keep their own terms. Public source access does not grant additional reuse or redistribution permissions.
Column Options
Square, circular and Gothic columns offer a no-capital option for Daedalon capitals, with matching shaft-only collision; normal side right-click cycles the selected capital style, while Gothic's Byzantine option keeps its placeholder head. Independent Straight or Diagonal (45°) orientations remain available for both ends: sneak-side-right-click with an empty hand to turn the selected end. Bare shafts stay straight, and style and orientation choices carry into new column blocks and survive /erydon recalc.
Native 16x Textures
ERYDON now includes its authored 16x materials directly in the mod, so its default appearance no longer needs a separate 16x resource pack. The optional unified ERYDON Collection 32x and 64x packs provide the detailed upgrades and support ERYDON, Themelios, and Daedalon together.
Smaller Mod Archive
Changed ERYDON's native texture packaging so exact duplicate PNGs are stored once while every existing texture path still resolves normally. The release JAR is smaller than its physical fallback, with artwork, alpha, PBR sidecars, CTM rules, and the separately built fallback preserved. Its alias resolver now skips unrelated or temporarily unavailable runtime packs, improving compatibility with mods that generate resources during startup.
Resource Packs and Compatibility
Replaced the old /erydon command information with a concise resource-pack notice whenever a player joins a world or server, with separate clickable Modrinth and CurseForge links for the optional 32x and 64x packs. ERYDON-family JAR and official Collection pack filenames now show the shared compat2 number independently from each product's version. Missing or different family numbers are rejected before incompatible mods or official pack assets load, while standalone installs and small physical override packs remain supported.
Georgian Walls
Georgian walls now form continuous banisters on 27° runs built from ERYDON shallow stairs, lower slabs, ERYDON layer blocks stacked to 4 or 8 layers, or bottom-only multiface layers stacked to 4 or 8 layers, including overlay variants; other multiface shapes do not trigger the slope, and 45° runs use full-block stairs. The 27° runs transition to flat sections with filled upper shallow-stair handoffs, corner handling, and clean open ends; piers remain on flat sections at turns, stair joints, and configurable intervals, with side-right-click cycling every 2, 3, 4, or 5 straight blocks, joints only, or no piers. /erydon recalc rebuilds the layout, Synapheia textures and circular detailing stay aligned, collision, selection, and raycasting follow the wall geometry more closely, and horizontal Axiom rotations and mirrors turn diagonal connections correctly.
Block and Item IDs
Changed ERYDON block and item IDs to the strict naming convention, including aged, slice, inlay, Quatrefoil, Rosette and Byzantine names. IDs published in 1.5.2 and earlier remain compatible through permanent aliases, while both old and new names remain searchable in vanilla creative search, REI, JEI, EMI and Axiom without changing existing connected-texture matches. Plain ‘block’ and ‘blocks’ searches, including ‘glacium block’, find full cubes and cube inlays; REI now keeps these results restricted even with tooltip searching enabled, while explicit tooltip searches remain available.
Built-in Connected Textures
ERYDON now renders repeat and connected-overlay textures through its built-in Synapheia engine, so Continuity is no longer bundled or required. Metallic inlays connect across full blocks, layers, stairs and slopes where their visible edges meet, including mixed inclines and triangular sides; multiface joins now respect the actual covered faces and thickness to prevent stray horizontal bands and false connections across gaps. Experimental Bronze and Silver Trim borders follow standard, shallow and vertical slope outlines across full-block folds with clean raised joins and inset acute corners, while corrected heightmaps retain recessed metal in supported POM shaders; native and optional resource packs retain their artwork, detailed motifs keep their existing rendering, and separately installed Continuity remains available for third-party content.
Large Spiral Stairs
Large Spiral Stairs now place each complete section from a single pivot block, with stacked sections rotating automatically to continue the spiral and the offstep landing appearing only on the top section; collision now follows the complete selection outline, including diagonal treads. Synapheia splits geometry outside normal model bounds into the correct connected-texture cells and uses POM-safe, world-aligned UVs so rotated treads and height-mapped grout stay aligned without stray marks. Existing published four-part stairs remain compatible and can be safely converted to the single-pivot layout with the recalc command, while the top offstep now has a larger matching walkable off-step across to the adjacent block.
Mixed-material Arch Clusters
Romanesque, Modern and Gothic arches now allow different stone materials and finishes within the same arch cluster, so Latmion Hewn can join Latmion Rusticated while each block keeps its own texture. Automatic shaping and width controls work across the mixed cluster, while different architectural styles remain separate.
Polished Portorium Branding
Refreshed ERYDON with polished Portorium stone plaques, raised bronze lettering, a seamless reflection animation and a tidier lower-right emblem texture with the same outline. The creative tab and resource-pack overrides use the compact animated emblem, Mod Menu uses its static version, and settings panels and the project README display the full animated logo. The settings menu gives the logo more space, places Settings and Explore vertically beside their groups, and uses bevelled Portorium controls with matching polished metal trim.
Debug Stick Block Controls
The debug stick skips automatic layout and segment controls on ceilings, arches, alcoves, covers, lights, chimneys, stairs, columns, surrounds and windows. Arch and French Georgian windows offer glass first, followed by sill_enabled for Arch Windows or sill_side for French Georgian windows, with a no-sill choice that keeps the side frames finished while leaving the threshold clear. Sill choices stay linked across connected and rebuilt windows with matching selection and collision, while existing glass, opening and saved layout settings remain compatible and debug-stick edits keep automatic layout enabled.
Framed Glazing Corners and Diagonals
Framed 45° glazing now forms inner and outer corners automatically, with solid lead crossbars between height layers; both shallow sections use smooth triangular panes and diagonal lead frames in tinted, silver, crystal and bronze finishes. Lower and upper pieces keep their named section, and selection outlines, collision and Axiom previews follow the glazing; replace any previously inverted shallow piece with the matching section if needed. Upright corner-to-corner panes are named Vertical Diagonal with clearer inventory icons and compatible old IDs and search names; all 20 framed glazing forms, including plain blocks, now share one REI group.
Gloss Covers and Coffered Ceilings
White and Black Gloss covers and coffered-ceiling insets use Ganosis (mirror finish) with supported Complementary shaders, while Silver Gloss covers retain the two-way-glass mirror coating. Bronze Gloss covers keep their full coloured metallic reflections and authored smoothness; matte silver and bronze keep their soft sheen without the false central square. Ceiling stonework keeps its selected finish, and Matte or Gloss can be selected with the debug stick.
Romanesque Arch Refinements
Refined Romanesque arch brick widths and removed the small recessed detail above the arch across widths 1–6, preserving small visible faces, mirrored sides, connected stone textures and matching collision outlines. Plain arches have matching stepped jambs and brick detailing that stays within the outer lining at widths 1–2, while the column setting retains its own profile. Only front or back clicks toggle the column layout, allowing blocks to be placed normally against the sides and top.
Automatic Arch Widths
Romanesque, Modern, Gothic and Georgian arches now grow automatically from one to six blocks wide as blocks are added, then start another arch. Longer runs form repeated six-wide clusters with a growing final section. The debug stick can still set smaller width caps, with six returning to automatic growth.
Pendant Light Sources
Pendant rods and ceiling attachments no longer emit block light; illumination comes from the pendant body. Body light levels and the large body's surrounding helper lights retain their existing controls.
Connected Textures
Fixed connected textures across affected ERYDON arches, windows, overlays, trims, stairs, coffered ceilings, lights, and other CTM-backed blocks by restoring valid texture paths. Existing blocks, Georgian alcove matches, models, UVs, and resource-pack textures are unchanged.
Model Rendering
Fixed widespread flickering and overlapping surfaces across complex ERYDON models, and restored complete rendering for Romanesque and Georgian arches. Corrected rotated faces and large Diaphanes pendant shades and bulbs sampling neighbouring textures. Connected textures now remain aligned across complex cluster components—including modern and Romanesque arches, Gothic columns, alcoves, vertical layers, and stone window sections—on tops, undersides, and vertical sides in every facing.
Connected Textures
Fixed connected textures on surrounds and cornices, including mantel/corbel joins, hearth tops, undersides and corners; rotated vertical layers, including Hewn, now retain the correct face direction for continuous stone patterns and visible sides. Georgian walls and cornice details reused by coffered ceilings keep stone patterns aligned across facings, and slope-aware Georgian wall shapes no longer freeze terrain loading when joining a world. Large spiral stairs keep connected textures continuous across rotated faces and neighbouring blocks without severe FPS drops from excessive surface subdivision; Gothic arches remain continuous, while Modern arch stone patterns remain upright and aligned through curved segments.
Slope Geometry and Textures
Fixed reversed standard and shallow corners, upside-down steep corner faces and mirrored builds; matching slope gradients now join across stone finishes, with outlines, collision and Axiom previews following the rendered straight and corner shapes, including shallow vertical tips. Framed glazing keeps the correct upside-down targeting direction and mirrored shallow corner. Connected textures remain aligned across slope facings and joins, with PBR depth and protection against stray grout lines, mirrored sections, restarted patterns and stretched seams.
Cover Block Stability
Fixed a crash that could occur when placing, removing, or editing large connected areas of ERYDON Cover blocks. Cover edges still update automatically, while White, Black, Silver, and Bronze covers now avoid recursive neighbour updates during large builds and editor operations.
Complementary Unbound POM
Complementary’s POM now keeps ERYDON’s 6×6 connected-texture heightmaps aligned across block boundaries and between cropped elements within models, including Romanesque arches. Relief depth and self-shadowing follow the full texture tile, preventing each small element from restarting the heightmap at its edge. The correction activates automatically with Iris and supported Complementary profiles; other shaders and resource-pack artwork are unchanged.
Swap Command
Fixed /erydon swap so valid destinations remain available with clear Honed/Polished/Ganosis, Aged and overlay choices across installed ERYDON, Daedalon and Themelios blocks, while keeping existing command names and published IDs compatible. Added /erydon swap overlay to switch Bronze and Silver Trim, Guilloche, Quatrefoil and Rosette inlays across mixed stone materials using chunk, radius or box selections, preserving the stone, pattern, shape and supported block settings. Rusticated Multiface Layers now support all 27 stone materials, and swaps and undo retain supported states and fountain assembly data; missing counterparts stay unchanged and undo preserves later edits.
Axiom Palette Icons
Fixed ERYDON block icons in Axiom so they now use the same item models and GUI transforms as the Creative inventory and REI. Custom arches, alcoves, slopes, columns, surrounds, windows, ceilings and other stateful blocks now show consistent palette icons without changing world rendering or adding ongoing render work.
Block Breaking Performance
Breaking any ERYDON block now creates at most 16 debris particles, including complex Romanesque arches, reducing heavy bursts while retaining accurate selection and collision. Arch Windows also reuse their collision shapes and avoid rebuilding the same surviving cluster repeatedly after a break, reducing unnecessary work during demolition. Mining-hit effects stay as before.
Slice Axiom Transformations
Fixed vertical slices moving to the wrong corner when mirrored with Axiom. Horizontal slices now swap between top and bottom when flipped upside down, preserving their material, thickness and waterlogging. These corrections run only during transformations and add no rendering or ticking work.
Arch, Alcove and Arch Window Axiom Transformations
Arch Windows mirror correctly while preserving glass and open settings, and the exposed top fragment on three-wide windows has been removed. Gothic and Georgian alcoves now keep their left/right sections together when flipped and rotated with Axiom’s Move Builder Tool, including two- and three-wide clusters. Arch left/right state handling has also been corrected.
Multiface Layer Placement
Overlay and ordinary multiface layers cover the clicked surface more reliably, including clicks near block edges and corners. Crouch-right-click thickens the existing layer, and copied or Axiom-palette items no longer restore an old face layout or reset its thickness during placement.
Column Reflections
Circular, Gothic and square ERYDON columns can appear in supported Complementary world-space reflections using a lightweight square-block approximation. Their visible shapes, collision and lighting remain unchanged, and the approximation uses the shader's existing reflection system.
Chunk Saving Memory Use
Fixed excessive temporary memory use when saving chunks in large modpacks, reducing save-time stalls and the risk of running out of memory. Saved block and biome data remain unchanged; no world conversion is needed.
